Keeping you up-to-date on my projects and goals during my year abroad.
Projects
One of my goals while I am abroad this year is to write a memoir about my childhood (it was a bit unconventional, to say the least). I won't publish pieces of it here (and you thought you came here to get spoilers!), but I will post updates on its progress.
Goal:
24 chapters (stories will be grouped into chapters later)
200 pages // 50,000 words
Progress:
400 pages // 99,926 words
45 Chapters
200% finished

I am finished with the writing portion of the book. I have begun the process of sending it out to literary agents to be published. I know this will be a long and challenging journey full of rejection letters, but I intend to make this book a reality, no matter what obstacles I may face.

x = I actually stepped foot here, not just roamed the airport

UPDATE: I discovered that this will probably not be possible with my current location/situation/funds. I am in a small town, so transportation to other countries on the weekend is more difficult than expected. However, I'll come back to this list one day!

Write some honest sh*t
I used to cringe at the idea of writing what I thought - but not anymore!
Just kidding, I still cringe a little, but I'm deciding to do it nevertheless. I've come to realize the value of that cranky, confusing inner monologue, the monologue that, if I didn't expose it to the world, would forego potential connection and impact.

It's a bit of an "indie" writing project (indie meaning self-published slash not necessarily mainstream, blockbuster type content), which I hope to slowly upload to various writing websites (and to my blog here) as I construct it piece-by-piece.

This experience of raw writing will be both uncomfortable and freeing, and I'm excited about it! And nervous. And a bit anxious. But excited!

Stay tuned for more, and feel free to reach out if you're into this idea and would like to see some content or need tips for doing something like this on your own.
